She's every man's fantasy. She's every man's nightmare. She pops in and out of Malcolm's life and bedroom just often enough to keep him off balance. How could he have allowed a woman like this to remain in his life? Malcolm learns he's in a love triangle with one of the most feared drug dealers in the state - Diego.
Malcolm wants her out of his safe, predictable, facts-driven world. When he tries to finally rid himself of her for a chance at real love, her darkest secrets threaten to ruin his life or even end it. On top of that, Malcolm discovers there are even worse things than Diego’s wrath.
I believe with all my heart that there is a purpose for each of us being here for however long we are here; perhaps multiple purposes. I believe that sometimes God tells you what that purpose is and other times it is left up to you to figure that out. Whether you receive divine guidance or not, you still must choose to work towards that purpose.
This story provides an example of what a rudderless, purposeless life transitioned into a set of specific goals and values might look like. Once you know where your life is headed, every choice you make either carries you closer to or further away from that target. We must each choose, through faith and on a daily basis, to use what gifts God gives us in each stage of our lives to pursue our God-inspired dreams. Faith without works is dead and we cannot please God without faith.
You know the old saying, An idle mind is the devil's workshop. Decide today that you will not be a pawn in the Satan's games...like my main character in this book. In the beginning, like us, he is so screwed!
But also, this story is a heck of a lotta fun.
Well...I have gotten a couple rounds of feedback from my beta readers. As of April 18th (2021), I have incorporated all the feedback that works. Now, I'm tweaking the writing again to make sure the entire work is consistent with the changes I've made...might as well make another pass-through for edits I missed.
Also, after the most recent set of edits in March/April '21, I have decided to hand this to an agent.
This book is good!
I do plan to distribute some advance copies to my beta readers and some folks that have asked for copies.
So, if you want a copy and you will commit to reading it and giving me feedback, reach out to me. I'll add you to my list.
I"m not doing preorders yet but I will once I complete the final edits and start the marketing campaign.
Sure it is. If you can handle a little bit of drama and reality then this book will be a very fun read. I am a bible-believing Christian and I am committed to my message about God's hand in our lives. In my writing, I am keen to highlight Isaiah 64:8 which says that God is active in our lives. He is shaping and molding us and I believe God is gently pushing us to become our best selves.
In this story, my main character is successful but is living without purpose. He's just making money and his life is empty because it is full of empty things, an empty job, an empty relationship, and empty friendships.
When a woman who has devoted her life to God's will and her own excellence comes into his life he knows she has something he doesn't and he wants to know what it is. But sometimes our past holds onto us even when we are ready to let it go.
We all struggle with sin but now that Malcolm wants to be a better man, it seems like the evil forces in his life won't take no for an answer. Will Malcolm fold to the unimaginable pressure to remain aligned with devious minds or will he charge forward into the great unknown that God is calling him towards?
