Love is a rainbow. Its colors steal our gaze.
unending tolerance for our ungodly ways
a multiplicity and magnificence of hue
a complete expression of all our God can do.
Its colors carry all our emotion
Pains of red, glories of gold
Through all, we have but devotion
to a savior for which we were sold.
The carnal mind hungers within and daily struggles to be free
to ruin our pastels and soft colors, and reduce our spirits to debris
When we submit to our darker desires, to even some smaller degree
we stifle the beauty and wonder that reaches beyond all we can see
we can kill our precious tomorrow, a promise God did decree.
Let us gaze long into the rainbow, let all God's children agree.
That we be both a seed and a harvest, evidence of God's guarantee.
And press on to that undated promise, that day of great jubilee!
