Honoring god through it all

One Name

Through my pain only one name

Overcoming my shame, only one name

Beyond my anger, only one name

With fear of danger, only one name

From cloud of doubt, only one name

My spirit shout, only one name

I carry my cross though I ponder great loss

Such losses be mine, such losses be yours

Filling the space from the walls and the floors

Reaching out to creation, God's Church and beyond

Feeling His abrasion as mine become gone

I will thank Him for the storms, the cold and the rain.

Waves of Mammon's hatred come again and again.

But that is just fine, I'm no pawn in his game

I'll not be luke-warm or just found to be lame.

I rise from the dust to carry God's name

but neither for pride, for envy or fame

but the sake of His Church, that we not be the same

as the world which is watching to put us to flame

they will see me and know I am changed

through only His strength, my nature to tame

and hear Him say "Servant, come forth without blame."

then reach back for another and help them to gain

and find their way out of the cold and the rain.
